So long Johnny

I, among several other people, am no longer in the fall play. In most cases I'd rather die than quit drama, but this is no longer our drama club. I can't enjoy practice anymore. Everyday I was there it was extremely frustrating. We were moving extremely slow and it wasn't enjoyable in the least. There are some people in drama that wont stick up to Strosahl because they're afraid of her getting mad and really want to finish this play, but come on guys you have to stick up for yourselves. That doesn't mean you have to quit. If you tell her your opinion she can't afford to lose anymore people so don't be so afraid of her. I still am and always will be a drama monkey though. However, I will never be in another play with Strosahl. Drama is supposed to be our escape from reality, somewhere that we can be with the people we love (fellow monkeys), and somewhere where we can be extremely strange: a.k.a ourselves. We are no longer allowed to be social(on stage or in the front center!), any sugestions are considered questioning Strosahl's authority, and joking around is all but strictly forbidden. That's not the way we run things, and apparently the way we did things worked since we are all family and we put on great shows. The annoying things she wants us to do are supposed to make us work like a team, but we already do. She is treating drama club like a class. We already know what we are doing and new people learn just as much (at the moment more) from the cast as they do the director. She is supposed to be there to keep order, give support, and help to make the play better. Not control us. I'm sad that I'm not going to be performing with the fall play, but I'm happy that I don't have to deal with the frustration that came with going to practice anymore.
